1. Check Your Checklist First
One of the first things you need to do is check your list of tasks. See how long the list is and do an estimate of how long it will take to finish everything.
Once you have an idea, that’s when you will start to sort out the tasks, knowing that each of them needs a different amount of time and effort. You can look at the big picture first — like all your tasks for the whole week, then sort them out by their deadlines. From there, it will be much easier for you to decide which tasks to work on first.
2. Determine the Urgent and Important Tasks
Sometimes, urgent and important sounds the same. They overlap at some point, but not all the time. Some urgent tasks are not always important, and some important tasks are not always urgent. If there is one thing you need to prioritize, it should be the task that is both urgent and important. That should be the main indicator for you.
3. Gauge the Effort Needed
Each task will require some amount of time and effort, but that does not mean that all your tasks require the same amount of time and effort. There are tasks you need to work on for hours, and there are tasks that you can do in 30 minutes. At this point, it will be much more practical to work on tasks you can do quickly. Afterward, move on to much harder ones. That way, you get to tick off some boxes on your checklist.
4. Time Yourself
You have to be conscious of your time. You may find yourself procrastinating, so make sure that you are fast and efficient. That way, you will be able to finish your tasks before the deadline. Do not forget to take some rest; you will need it.
